Steven Hyland is a Suffolk County–based Football Coach and Wrestling Mentor with deep roots in Long Island athletics. A graduate of Islip High School and proud supporter of Cornell Big Red Football, Hyland has spent the last decade giving back to the same communities that helped shape his athletic career.

Local Coaching & Mentorship
Steven Hyland grew up on the fields of Islip Football and NY High School Wrestling, where he first learned the value of teamwork, preparation and discipline. After continuing his academic and athletic journey at Choate Rosemary Hall, Michigan State University and Cornell University, Hyland returned to Long Island to help develop the next generation of student-athletes. He now leads youth football and wrestling programs throughout Suffolk County, including seasonal training clinics and character-building workshops designed to support athletes both on and off the field.

Steven Hyland’s programs focus on Offensive and Defensive Line Training, Wrestling Technique, Strength and Conditioning and Student-Athlete Leadership — always with an emphasis on sportsmanship and community involvement.

Athletic Background
Steven Hyland is a former Cornell Football player and Michigan State Football athlete. A multi-sport competitor, he was recognized as a High School All-Star and Academic All-Division Scholar-Athlete before competing at the collegiate level in both Ivy League and Big Ten programs. Hyland draws on his experience in Collegiate Competition, Game Day Performance and Team Captain leadership to shape his coaching philosophy.

Whether mentoring high school linemen, volunteering at local wrestling tournaments, or leading youth sports workshops, Steven Hyland remains committed to growing Suffolk County’s athletic community. He is a visible presence in the Long Island sports scene and an advocate for youth development through structure, mentorship and positive coaching.
